The Drug (Tribute to Röyksopp)

Re cover collective exhibition

As one of the participants in the collective exhibition Re Cover, conceived and organized by the Mexican artist Omar Barquet, this and other creatives’ pieces intend to recur the collective memory and excitement for those covers that gently, yet transcendently, dressed the commonly known LP records. As a tribute to these covers, creatives from various practices were invited to reinterpret a cover of their choice.

This artwork is the representation of the single album “the drug” from the band Röyksopp. The resulting work is an acrylic stereotomy with the photographs of sections of an apple pipe, commonly used as an easy alternative to smoke marijuana. The transfer technique and the transparent material of the acrylic, allows the viewer to perceive subtly the duct created for smoking.
